The process is what ensures the work will be excellent every time. It is the steps we force ourselves to take whenever we do the work because we believe it is too important to leave to chance or memory or talent. It has evolved to assure our thorough understanding of your needs and goals, and to provide a detailed work plan that guarantees the project team will consistently meet them.

We start with multiple walk-throughs during which we listen, ask and answer questions, and take notes. We then provide you with a quote detailing the project parameters, with any pricing options you may have requested. Once an agreement has been reached and you have authorized us to proceed, the project team is given a written summary and work schedule. This is kept in an on-site job folder, and used to facilitate the work organization and flow.

The work process includes, but is not limited to, the following components:

  • Set up – Furnishings and other personal items are moved, removed and or covered. Floors are covered with clean cloth drop sheets. Plastic barriers are installed to control dust in designated areas as required.
  • Preparation – In keeping with your requests, holes, cracks and other flaws are carefully repaired, wallpaper is removed, stains are sealed and subject surfaces are cleaned, primed and/or scuff sanded.
  • Painting – Paint is expertly applied using top quality brushes and roller sleeves and other tools as appropriate.
  • Inspection – You inspect our work. If we have not met or exceeded your expectations, we continue working until we have.
  • Tear down and cleaning – Tools, barriers and coverings are removed. Leftover paint is stored (for future touch-ups) or removed as you direct. Items are returned to their proper places. Floors are swept, mopped or vacuumed as appropriate.
In working with Emmett Ashford on a custom home in Toronto , all aspects of the paint work was thoroughly executed. From multiple colour matches presented in samples to make sure the colours were perfect, to asking detailed questions in tricky areas; all to ensure a beautiful finish to complete the house. Emmett was a pleasure to work with and is highly recommended.
